About
Hi, I’m Aron! I’m a final year doctoral student at MIT’s Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS) and a member of the Resilient Infrastructure Networks group. My research focuses on applying machine learning and optimization towards planning and operations of large-scale systems, with a particular focus on regional energy systems.
Before starting my PhD, I studied Civil Systems Engineering and Mathematics (Courses 1+18) at MIT. Outside of my research, I have also been a teaching assistant for 1.C01/1.C51 Machine Learning for Sustainable Systems and spent last summer as an intern with Gridmatic.
Research
I am currently working as a graduate researcher in MIT’s Resilient Infrastructure Networks Lab under the mentorship of Saurabh Amin [CEE/ORC/LIDS]. My research interests lie at the intersection of deep learning and optimization with applications towards infrastructure/societal systems. In particular, I’m interested in understanding how machine learning can benefit planning for decarbonized interconnected transportation-energy systems.
